This is the penultimate Kentucky high school basketball Elite 16 media poll of the season.

The Covington Catholic Colonels strengthened their hold on the top spot, receiving 15 first-place votes. For the girls, Simon Kenton matched its highest ranking of the season and is receiving first-place votes after wins over Frederick Douglass and Sacred Heart.

Each week, 16 media members around the state will vote on the top teams in the state, while listing the top five boys and girls teams in their assigned region. The Enquirer represents the Eighth and Ninth regions. Jason Frakes of the Louisville Courier-Journal compiles the ballots.
